Poinsettias

Never thought about it before but the people here put poinsettias out in planters like mums. We are sitting in Stanley waiting for friends to come and play.

Alone???

Headed to Tim's work to meet him fora stolen moment! They built a huge sky slope in his building for a Christmas display. I was amazed! Next to the bank to get a new ATM card. Somehow mine quit working. I suspect a little magnet monkey but could not prove anything. Met a lovely couple in the MTR from Australia whose son works in St Petersburg (not the Florida one!) invited my family to their home in Brisbane. Well not quite they scrambled off the MTR before I could get their address ! Then I Facebooked all the way to the end of the line. People kept trying to get me to look up. I know they thought I missed my stop! Now a quiet bus ride home to join my minions and make dinner .

Gorgeous Beginings!

Who can stay in bed with the sky screaming at you like this?  Wow, I love the way the light colors the clouds and the water.  Often I will be talking and then say just a minute kids I need to take a photo!  I just love the scenery and watching the clouds waft by. . .it is mesmerizing!

Heading to church

Where are we going today? How far is it? Both common questions in our family. Today we are going to church. 1 bus and 1 train 5 MTR stops end of the line for the bus. No we are not going in the ocean or under the harbor and we are taking a mini bus which is much faster than a double decker because they only stop when signaled and not at all if they are full. Which they usually are with the 6 of us. There are drivers we are getting to know a little. One sings in Cantonese, one drives a bus you pray will not breakdown, one rockets around curves like a rollercoaster and his load is always green at the end, today we have a whistling driver. Jp has been squeaking ever since.

Rainbow Fruit

From left to right. . . Persimmons, star fruit, dragon fruit. Avocados are not great here we are looking for a substitute! Maybe dragon fruitamole! I will keep you posted. Persimmon salsa? Star fruit chips!

Pool Closure

Having a sad moment of silence for the time of year the pool closes! I wonder when it opens again. . .February?!

The Dogs at Stanley

Today I noticed signs all over Stanley saying they are going to try to set the a record for the Guiness Book of World Records. Something like the most dogs getting their teeth brushed at once. Who thinks of these things? So anyway, afterward I went for some highlights at the only salon I have noticed. It was really nice! They even gave me a scalp and kneck massage. I have noticed some other things about Stanley. They have these sculptures Along the water front in a sort of art display. There is this big mountain looking metal thing that is made of what looks like pieces of foil. I have wondered about it. Today I figured it out while I was at the salon. . . It is a dog getting highlights! What do you think?
